- Minimum number of LOTs required per timed auction is 500.
- All LOTs are stored at the one location of your choice. No need to transport them to a central area.
- Registering of LOTs is free of charge.
- Timed auctions will run for 2 full weeks, ending on a Sunday evening.
- You are able to utilise this service if you have LOTs at one site. This may be via one person, or a group of individuals. The key is that the LOTs are required to be in one location for customer convenience, i.e. an Antique Emporium or one postcode.
- We utilise the Saleroom.com to host the online timed auction.
1) Register with us to set you up on our system.
2) Take 3 good quality photos of each item, or LOT, as you wish. Plain background is best.
3) Write a good description for each LOT, adding any detail the customer may wish to know, i.e. damage, history, provenance.
4) Send the photos and descriptions to Tophat Auctions email address. The lots will be added to the auction template free of charge.
5) Answer any questions from buyers prior to the timed auction ending. These will be directed to you by Tophat Auctions.
6) Once the timed auction completes, you will be advised which lots have sold and given the buyers details to arrange collection, or postage of sold LOT's.
7) Confirm to us that this has been completed.
8) Receive payment for your completed sales.
1) Process your registration form, ensuring we have your details correctly logged.
2) Ensure your LOT's (descriptions and photos) are in place and confirmed prior to the timed auction going live.
3) Direct any buyer questions to you for reply.
4) Upon the auction completing, collect and hold securely full payment from the buyer.
5) You will be advised this has completed and we then provide the buyers details.
6) When we have been informed that the collection or postage of LOT's has occurred, your payment will be sent via bank transfer. This is completed once a week.
1) The cost of registering with Tophat Auctions is zero.
2) The cost of registering a LOT with Tophat Auctions is zero.
3) The cost of Tophat Auctions running the Online Timed Auction is zero.
4) We charge 18% (+VAT), to the buyer when they purchase any of the LOT's. This is one of the lowest rates for online sales. This means that more money will be sent to the seller.
5) We charge 5% (+VAT) to the buyer for the use of the Saleroom online forum.
6) The cost of postage or collection is organised between the Seller and the Buyer.
7) There are no others costs applied to any sales.
